You should compost dry closet waste at least a year before you use it in your garden. If you want to use the dry closet waste for the fertilizing of edible plants, make sure you compost the waste at least two years. Your composting equipment should be well isolated and it should have a solid bottom, walls and a lid.
Small amounts of dry closet waste is recieved well packed in our waste treatment centres and sorting stations as a burnable waste. Larger amounts of dry closed waste are received only in the Topinoja and the Korvenmäki waste treatments centres.
