Food grade grease

You can put grease when absorbed into a composter or bio waste bin. If you have access to neither of these, pack the grease tightly, e.g. in a milk carton, and put into burnable waste. Do not pour grease into the sewer. You can also take larger amounts of grease into our sorting stations.

The waste belongs to the following waste types:

Bio wasteBurnable wasteFryer grease

Sorting guidelines:

Pack bio waste in wrapping that will decompose, such as newspaper or a biodegradable bag, before putting it into a bio waste container. It’s importat to pack bio waste in order to keep the waste container clean and odourless. You don’t need to pack bio waste for your home composter.

If you do not have access to a composter or bio waste container, bio waste is burnable waste.

Sort both recyclable waste and hazardous waste separately.

Small batches of fryer grease are taken by sorting stations. For the reception of larger batches, for example fryer grease from institutional kitchens, contact businesses specialized in recycling of vegetable oil.
