Sort aluminium lidding into metal and plastic ones into collection of plastic packaging or burnable waste. In cases with ambiguity, you can do a crumple test: plastic lidding will spring back when squeezed, while a metal one will stay crumpled.

The waste belongs to the following waste types:

Burnable wasteCarton packagingMetalPlastic packaging

Sorting guidelines:

Sort both recyclable waste and hazardous waste separately.

Rinse and let drip dry. Tear, flatten and pack carton packaging inside one another. If the package has a cap, remove it and sort it in the collection for plastic packaging.

Into the metal collection you can sort waste for which metal makes up more than half of the weight. Electric devices and waste containing hazardous waste make an exception to this rule – they always have to be taken to an appropriate reception.

Take small metal waste into the collection bin at your condominium or at the Rinki eco take-back point. Take larger metal scrap to the sorting stations or the waste treatment centres free of charge.

Remove lids and caps and put them into the recycling bin separately. Do not stack different kind of plastic pots, because it makes it difficult for the manufacturing plant to sort the plastics.

Sort all other plastic, broken plastic items, such as buckets, toys and dishes, and dirty plastic packaging into burnable waste.

Plastic packaging are collected in some Rinki ecopoints. Read more: www.rinkiin.fi. Plastic packaging are received at all waste treatment centres and sorting stations.
