On mainland Pargas, in Nagu, Korpo, and Houtskär main islands as well as on Norrskata, LSJH takes care of septic tank and cesspool sludge by municipal arrangement. Sludge tanks are emptied by companies invited to tender by LSJH: L&T in Pargas, Kaivuu & Kuljetus Saarinen Oy in Nagu, Eerola-Yhtiöt Oy in Korpo and Norrskata, and Lindqvist Trans in Houtskär.
Collection area
LSJH organises sludge-tank emptying in Pargas, on the main islands of Nagu, Korpo and Houtskär and on Norrskata. In other areas, property users order sludge collection from an etntrepreneur of their choice.
How to join municipal sludge collection
In order to add your property to the municipal sludge collection, we’ll need information about your sewage system. You can send us the details either via our e-service or by printing out the pdf form and return it to our customer service filled out. You’re welcome to scan the filled out form and email it to our customer service as well. The e-mail address for sludge forms is liete@lsjh.fi.
Unfortunately, our sludge collection forms exist only in Finnish and Swedish at the moment. Please don’t hesitate to contact customer service if you need assistance.
Sludge-tank emptying at regular intervals or by order
Permanent homes and holiday homes with flush toilets: Septic tanks and small sewage treatment plants must be emptied at least once a year. Holiday homes with only a dry toilet: Septic tanks must be emptied at least once every two years.
Cesspools can be emptied either at regular intervals or only by the customer’s order. Keep an eye on the amount of sludge in the cesspol, in order to be able to order a timely collection date.
Regular emptying is only conducted during working days. If the temperature drops below -15 °C emptying can not be carried out, in which case emptying times will be delayed.
How to arrange emptying
An order for sludge emptying is placed with either our customer service, or via the e-service. Make an appointment for emptying at least five weekdays in advance, preferrably even earlier if possible. This way routes can be planned in time and sludge tanks emptied systematically.
If an emptying is ordered for the same day, a transportation fee for express emptying will be applied.
NB! On Norrskata, emptying is only conducted on odd weeks. The order must be placed on Thursday of the previous even week, at the latest.

How to cancel a regular emptying date
If not enough sludge for collection has accumulated in your septic tank, the current year’s emptying date can be cancelled by filling out the cancellation form and delivering it to the local waste management committee. Our customer service will assist, if needed.
The cancellation must be made at least 4 weeks in advance of the planned regular emptying date. The cancellation concerns only the ongoing year’s emtying date.
Sludge collection rates as of May 5th, 2022
The rates are based on the waste tariff approved by the waste management authority. The price of sludge-tank emptying consists of transportation and treatment fees. Additional fees are applied for extra work. The services are billed after the collection has taken place.
